This is a nice piece and has potential of becoming a better piece. I like the subject matter that you chose. I suggest capturing the acorn in it's natural habitat. What I mean by that is, presentation of your subject matter. Draw a branch horizontally from one end of the paper to other end of the paper. From there, have the acorn dangling from the branch. Add the leaf in such a way so that it compliments the acorn. Depending on which object is your focus, adjust it accordingly. Size relation of the acorn to the leaf and branch is important, try to keep that in mind. Seeing that you chose to showcase the whole subject matter upclose and personal. Polish the detail of the acorn and branch. You did a nice job on the leaf. Seeing the different textures makes the composition interesting! Depending on what you're aiming for, if you want to showcase just linework. Give each subject matter different line weight! The lines on the leaf should be very thin in comparison to the acorn and branch. The acorn itself would probably be the middle weight and the branch would proabably be the heaviest. If you're showing off shading techniques, less line contouring, meaning, less lines defining the actual objects. You don't want the coloring book effect. The shading should define the object. If you're unsure of what I'm saying, just hit me up with a note or comment me back.
